What Is Provasil?
Provasil is a supplement that contains natural nootropics. It is designed to improve cognitive function, memory, and thought processing.
The company claims that this formula can have several effects in regards to improving cognitive performance such as:
- Eliminating brain fog
- Forgetfulness
- Troubles with focus
Who Makes Provasil?
Cognetix Inc is the maker of this supplement. This company was founded in 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
They operate in both Salt Lake City, Utah, and Ivoryton, Connecticut.
Who Is Provasil For?
Provasil is for anyone looking for a relatively natural supplement to aid in improving cognitive function and performance.
It is marketed towards younger people who struggle with focus, brain fog, and a bad memory.
It is also marketed towards older people who are starting to experience effects of cognitive decline.
How Does Provasil Work?
Provasil contains natural nootropics that help reverse the effects of cognitive decline.
Each ingredient either works individually or with another ingredient to enhance different parts and functions of the brain.
For example, Ginkgo has been known to boost the circulation of blood to the brain, but it does even better when combined with Ginseng Root (which is another good ingredient for increased blood circulation).
Those two ingredients work great together, while ingredients like Folic Acid are good at decreasing the risk of cognitive decline all by itself.
Unfortunately, no scientific studies have been provided to prove that this product really works in enhancing your cognitive performance or reducing the risk of cognitive decline.
Provasil Ingredients
Provsail is loaded with natural ingredients. The manufacturer claims these ingredients have been combined to create a formula that should give you the best chance at having some improvement in your cognitive performance.
Unfortunately, while the main ingredients are good for you, the dose is so low that it might not have any effect on you.
These ingredients are:
Vitamin C – Vitamin C is a vital antioxidant molecule in the brain. It can prevent damage to the brain’s cognitive function caused by free radicals. It is also a natural part of catecholamine synthesis. Catecholamine is one of the top chemicals needed for a brain to function properly.
Folic Acid – Folate deficiency has been associated with those who have poor cognitive function, as well as dementia. Folic Acid can help reduce the risks of cognitive decline.
B12 – B12 deficiency is a very common problem and it can often be associated with memory loss. It could also be the reason that some people struggle with jobs involving thinking and reasoning.
Biotin – Biotin helps with the production of neurotransmitters and other brain chemicals that communicate between cells. It helps with regular memory and cognitive function.
Choline Bitartrate – This is what the company calls the essential nutrient in the formula. Choline is is important for cell membranes and for the production of acetylcholine. This is a neurotransmitter that plays an important role in memory.
L-Tyrosine – This is an amino acid that is related to the main source of dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that can have major effects on your mood and overall mental well-being. This ingredient is not related to cognitive function of memory, and will not likely help as a booster of intelligence.
N-Acetyl-L-Carnitine – This is another antioxidant like Vitamin C. It can neutralize free radicals that could harm cognitive function. The company claims that it also has a variety of cognitive benefits in memory formation and recall ability.
Bacopa Monnieri – This is a nootropic herb that has been proven to have some fantastic effects on memory and cognition. It can help improve how the brain reacts in stressful situations and with anxiety.
Ginkgo Leaf – This is another natural enhancer of the memory. Ginkgo leaf has been proven to improve your thought process, mental clarity, and the length of your attention span. It can also prevent cognitive decline.
Phosphatidylserine – This ingredient is used to reduce the effects of age-related cognitive decline. The company claims this ingredient has proven to be successful in improving concentration, learning, and any tasks involving memory.
L-Glutamine – This is another amino acid that is important when learning. It is used to maintain the production of two neurotransmitters, GABA and Glutamate. These neurotransmitters are responsible for the retention and uptake of information.
Phosphatidycholine -This is a phospholipid molecule and the body’s main source of Choline. The brain takes the Choline manufacturer in the body and uses it to transmit thoughts and boost mental performance.
Panax Ginseng – This ingredient has been used to benefit those dealing with fatigue by improving their mental performance. It can also boost circulation which keeps the brain healthy.
Resveratrol – Resveratrol can potentially increase blood flow to the brain, but it is not in any way considered a nootropic aid.
Docosahexaenoic Acid – This ingredient can help with nutrient transportation. It is also known as DHA, and low levels of DHA have been linked to cognitive decline.
Other Ingredients: Di Calcium Phosphate, Stearic Acid, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Croslose Sodium, Magnesium Stearate, Silicon Dioxide, Coating (Hydroxypropyl methulcellulose, carmel polyethylene glycol, Opadry® (color), and titanium dioxide.
Provasil Side Effects
The manufacturer has claimed that because of the natural formula this supplement uses, there are little to no negative side effects.
However, just because their main ingredients are mostly natural, they use a host of other ingredients that on their own could have potential side effects.
For example, Magnesium Stearate in large doses can damage the skin, and cause liver toxicity.
Di-Calcium Phosphate can cause symptoms similar to calcium overdose which can include kidney stones, fatigue, muscle weakness, nausea, vomiting, heart rate changes, confusion, diarrhea and constipation, headaches, and even coma.
Provasil Dosage
The recommended dosage is to take 1-2 tablets a day.
It is not recommended to take more than that dosage, even though all of the ingredients in this supplement have apparently been tested to ensure quality and safety.
