What Is Rogaine?
Rogaine is a topical aerosol that is marketed to help with hair regrowth. It’s quite a popular brand for people who are looking for a solution to their hair loss problems. It’s a foam-type product that promises to make your hair look younger, thicker, and fuller.
Its manufacturer claims that the product can regrow your hair by up to 25% more in just 3 months. They also say that this result is clinically proven, that’s why this brand is recommended by dermatologists.
Rogaine For Men
This special formula is intended for male users since the hair follicles differ mainly because of gender and body composition. The foam is ideal for men who are just in the early stage of hair thinning.
Rogaine for men is not like your average hair thickening products or shampoo for hair loss. Such products are most likely to just give your hair temporary plumpness or shape. This formula claims to revive hair follicles by penetrating the scalp. When this happens, hair will regrow easily and faster.

Rogaine For Women
Although hair thinning is usual among men, it doesn’t mean that it cannot happen to women. It can dramatically affect not just your physical appearance but your confidence as well.
It’s essential that you are able to notice this hair issue in its early stage because most treatments and medications are more effective when used at such stage. This is why Rogaine also has this formulation that specifically caters to women. It promises to give you hair that’s thicker and more beautiful.
The formula is actually the same as that of Rogaine for men; the only difference is the recommended dosage and the percentage of minoxidil. This is because women have different or lower drug sensitivity or reaction as compared to men.

Who Makes Rogaine?
Rogaine claims to be the leading brand when it comes to hair regrowth. They have been around for more than 20 years already and according to their website, they have gone through a lot of clinical trials and tests just to keep on improving the brand.
Aside from their foam-type products for both men and women, they also offer the topical solution. The usage of this one will differ from the foam type but nonetheless, all products are formulated for hair loss.

Best Rogaine Alternative
Due to all the negative reviews about Rogaine, we’ve been looking for a competitive product that was proven more effective. We checked several of them with deception, and finally came around a real effective hair loss product. You can read its review HERE.
Who Is Rogaine For?
All Rogaine products can be used by men and women who are at least 18 years old. They have a pretty comprehensive FAQ page on their website which should answer any particular question that you may have.
The formula should be able to help those who have hereditary hair loss. If any of your immediate or extended family members has experienced or is currently experiencing hair loss, this means that there’s a big possibility that you will get it as well.
You may also notice gradual hair thinning on the upper part of your scalp. The pattern may look like an evergreen tree in terms of shape. If you can notice this change, might as well start using a hair loss product right away.
How Does Rogaine Work?
According to their website, there is no definite mechanism of action if you will ask about the working process of Rogaine products. It will depend on several factors such as hormones, heredity, and age.
But then some researchers claim that the brand works by partially extending the follicles of the hair which in turn reverses the process of miniaturization. When the follicles are enlarged or extended, it will trigger the hair cycle to prolong its growth phase. As a result, the hair will appear thicker and will also be longer.
Rogaine Ingredients
There is only one active ingredient in Rogaine and that is 5% of Minoxidil. It’s a type of drug that is called a vasodilator. It works by reviving and increasing hair follicle size so that it can have a longer growth cycle.
Minoxidil is popular for its ability to treat male pattern baldness. Depending on its percentage, it may also be used by women who are suffering from thinning hair and hair loss.
In rare instances, this substance may be absorbed by the skin and can possibly cause side effects like chest pain, dizziness, swelling feet and/or hands, unwanted body or facial hair, irregular heartbeat, and unusual weight gain.
Rogaine Side Effects
Among the most common side effects of Rogaine is the shedding of the hair particularly during the first two weeks of using it. However, they say that this is normal and is actually a sign that the product is already working.
There may also be instances of scalp issues such as dryness, irritation, and itchiness. You might also notice unwanted facial hair, although the website claims that this should disappear when you stop using the product.
How To Use Rogaine
For men, Rogaine may be used twice daily. Simply apply half a capful of the foam to your scalp where hair loss is observed. Then, massage onto the scalp using your fingers. Leave as it is and make sure to wash your hands well after application.
The direction is the same for the women variation, except that the dosage should only be used once a day. No need to shampoo or dry your hair first before applying the product. In case you really need to shampoo first, you’ll have to dry your hair first to make sure that the scalp will be dry before application.
Rogaine Reviews
You will find a lot of Rogaine reviews not just on their website, but also on other online merchant sites like Amazon. This is a good thing because you can easily gauge the popularity and effectiveness of the product just by reading through its reviews.
There are several positive reviews, while you will also notice that around 20% of the users gave it a low rating. One Amazon customer said that it didn’t work for him even after using the foam for 6 months.
Another user complained that it only caused skin breakouts and rashes. It also made his ears and eyes swollen.
Where To Buy Rogaine?
You can easily find Rogaine online and even offline, too. You may order directly from their official website, or get it from Amazon if you wish.

my twin sister did try the rogaine for women for 6 months and she liked it! she even recommended it to me when I noticed my hair increasingly decreased. but after 5 weeks I didn’t notice much improvement, and the foam spreads elsewhere and not only the target balding area. I find it quite annoying to use so I stopped altogether, but at least it worked for her so I give it 3 stars!

Yes, I did use Rogaine for my thinning hair (I’m now turning 40) and my verdict? Rogaine doesn’t live up to all that hype I saw on Amazon. Too bad the seller I bought it from didn’t allow refund.

Rogaine seemed to work for me during the first 4 months but now I started seeing more hair in the shower again.. It’s frustrating really!
